However, for some of us, newbies, Twitter and Facebook is a new kid on the block. We have to learn a lot about social media marketing  and how to generate leads with twiter or facebook without being called spammer. We join twitter and facebook and we do not know what to do next.  I use the same approach on twitter or facebook as I do in a daily life  offline: I share my story and how I can be a help to other people with what I know today after 20 years experience as traditional business owner and how I overcame adversity.  

What I am learning here is that the key to success with Twitter and Facebook is about connecting with people using the right approach, engaging in a valueable conversation and not SPAMING walls and blog posts. It is about being aware of your intentions and come across as someone who can provide good valueable content in the right situation at the right time.

 Twitter is a micro blogging system and allows participants to leave comments and make notes in 140 characters and less. It is a perfect for a person with a busy schedule. The secret with Twitter is not in the numbers of followers but the number of quality connections you have and building relationships with twitter members.  It allows to define the quality candidates or prospects for your business.

Twitter became the a great platform for president Obama campaign and it gets more and more attention every day.

In the summary here is what you do:

1. Join Twitter

2. Do research on your niche

3. Define people you want to follow

4. Follow them and send then reply you are following them

5. Connect with them and share your story

6. Build relationships: It is better to give than to receive.. (we will talk about receiving later)

7. ask for referals

8. Announce your events, special classes and tweet about other twitters.

9. Add 20-30 people a day at least. 100 people max
